Support

We're a small team — and quick to reply.

Email us with anything: a bug, a feature request, a connection that won't behave, or just an early-access invitation. We read every message.

System requirements

Operating system

Windows 10 (build 1809 or later) or Windows 11. Apple Silicon and Linux support are post-V1.

Network

HTTPS access to your Oracle Fusion SaaS pod. SSO logins use a popup window, so the same domains your browser can reach are the ones the app needs.

Fusion permissions

A Fusion user that can run BI Publisher reports. The app deploys its own gateway report into your user folder on first connect — no admin tickets needed.

Disk

~150 MB for the install, plus space for your local query history and result-set caches (typically a few MB).

Common questions

The Test Connection wizard fails on "deploy gateway." What now?

Usually one of three things: your user lacks BIP write access to their own catalog folder, the Fusion URL is wrong (use the pod root, not a deep link), or SSO is required but you picked Basic auth. The wizard tells you which of the six steps failed; email us a screenshot if you'd like a hand.

Why does my query come back as a SOAP fault instead of a row set?

Most fault strings are Oracle errors wrapped by BIP. Data Collage parses out the ORA code, line number, and message and shows them in the error panel — click the line number to jump to the offending token. If a fault doesn't parse, please send us the raw response.

Can I run UPDATE / INSERT / DELETE?

No. Read-only is by design: every query is validated locally with a SQL parser, and the BIP gateway has no DML privileges of its own. If you need to modify data, use Fusion's UI or REST APIs.

Where are my saved connections and history kept?

Locally, in a SQLite database under your Windows AppData folder. Passwords sit in the Windows Credential Vault (service name DataCollage). Nothing is uploaded; nothing is synced to the cloud.

How do I update?

During early access, updates ship as a new installer — re-run it and your settings, history, and library are preserved. Auto-update is on the roadmap once we settle on a hosting model.

Where do I find logs?

Help → Open log folder in the app menubar opens the directory containing the rolling diagnostic log. If you're sending us a bug, attaching the most recent log makes triage much faster.

Is there a macOS version?

Mac support is on the roadmap. We're actively testing a macOS build and it will be available soon — reach out if you'd like us to let you know when it ships.

Privacy

Data Collage is a desktop application. It does not transmit your queries, results, credentials, or telemetry to Newarc Consulting or any third party. All traffic flows directly between your machine and the Fusion pod you configured.

AI Assist (when shipped) calls the LLM provider you configure (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) or a local model via Ollama. We don't proxy those calls.

License

Data Collage is commercial software licensed by Newarc Consulting Inc. During early access, all licenses default to a 14-day trial status. See the in-app Settings → License panel for your license key and activation status.

Source-available components (Tauri, React, Monaco, AG Grid Community, rusqlite, etc.) are used under their respective open-source licenses.
